DocumentaryBase is an aggregator of documentaries and factual programs. We operate the world's number one destination for factual video, factualTV.com. factualTV is an internationally available Internet based retail service, offering streaming and downloading of documentaries and factual videos.

As an online destination specialized in subject oriented video factualTV focuses on exposing content to niche interest consumers globally. Paired with the capability for consumers to join an online community dedicated to special interests, factualTV is a meeting place for people with niche interests on a global scale.

The concept has been developed together with industry players and end-user concerns and needs have been considered and evaluated. With a background in the documentary industry as documentary producers and financers, DocumentaryBase understands the needs of the documentary and factual industry and is first and foremost intended to enhance the possibilities for distribution and revenue generation for industry players rather than to compete with existing media structures.

DocumentaryBase plans to have 2500 hours of video avalible through factualTV.com at its launch rising to 10,000 by the end of 2009. Users will be able to rent or buy documentaries to keep for a fee. Free-to-view advertiser-funded programming is expected to account for around 80% of the service.

The company was founded in early 2006 by two Swedish media entrepreneurs, and today consists of a set of high-level individuals with substantial experience from the international audiovisual content industry and the Internet industry.

Daniel Hill, CEO Founder of DocumentaryBase and a media entrepreneur and former documentary film producer. Prior to funding DocumentaryBase Daniel was involved in various documentary and feature film productions. Daniel also has a background from the financial industry as well as from the early internet industry.
